Our Services

Multi-Family Electrician for Duplexes & Small Apartments

Duplexes, triplexes, and small apartment buildings — wired, panelized, and maintained.

Multi-family wiring has its own code requirements — shared services, unit separation, common-area circuits, and life-safety devices that single-family work doesn't touch. All City Electric handles electrical for duplexes, triplexes, and small apartment buildings across the greater Seattle area, from new construction to panel modernization on aging properties.

We make sure each unit has its own properly separated and labeled circuits, that common-area lighting and laundry rooms are on their own feeders, and that smoke and carbon-monoxide detectors are interconnected per code. On older properties we frequently find shared neutrals, overloaded panels, and missing GFCI protection — issues we correct before they become a vacancy or an insurance problem.

We work around tenants when possible, keep common areas safe and lit, and document the panel so future maintenance is straightforward for owners and property managers.

Questions

Multi-Family — Your Questions Answered

Can you separate electric meters for individual units?

Yes. We can reconfigure a shared service into individually metered units where the utility and local jurisdiction allow it, including new meter bases, tenant panels, and the required separation and labeling.

Do you handle common-area and life-safety wiring?

We do — common-area lighting, laundry room circuits, hallway and stairwell lighting, and interconnected smoke/CO detection are all part of our multi-family scope, installed and inspected to code.

Can you upgrade panels in an older multi-family building?

Yes. We replace overloaded or outdated panels, correct shared neutrals, and bring grounding and protection up to code while keeping common areas lit and safe for tenants.

Do you install interconnected smoke and CO detectors in multi-family?

Yes. We install interconnected, code-compliant smoke and carbon-monoxide detection with unit separation and common-area coverage as required.

Can you add EV charging to a multi-family property?

Yes. We install shared or individually metered Level 2 charging stations with subpanels and load management so the building's service isn't overloaded.

Do you work around tenants?

We do. We schedule work to minimize disruption, keep common areas lit and safe, and coordinate with property managers on access and timing.

"I had an incredible experience getting service done from All City Electric. I wanted to have some outlets fixed as well as install a Level 2 Charger. They were easy to schedule a time for an estimate and also for the service. The electrician came right on time for both appointments and was very respectful and sweet. Every team member was very kind and sweet and accommodating. I would highly recommend them for any future service needs you have!"

"I called All City Electric when my laundry room and living room lights would not turn off. If you tried to turn them off they flicker. Then 5 of my outlets either didn't work or things would fall out of them. I finally got sick of it and reached out explaining my situation. The gal that answered my call was very sweet and kind. Even when I called back the next day saying I forgot to write it down and wanted to confirm my appointment day and time. We had a good laugh. She made my day! Today, Kevin showed up on time and confirmed the problem and got to work right away. He was pleasant and kind during the entire process. He answered all my questions. Thank you to the entire staff and owner of All City Electric!! You will forever have my business. Please call if you have any issues. They are absolutely the best to work with!! Thank you again!!"
